This is Artistic Creativity that I can truly respect!
I ran into these 2 artists in Midtown Manhattan on 57th and 10th last week. They’re painting the side of a restaurant. I’ll definitely be sharing the final result with you soon! …or whenever they’re done rather, because they are definitely “in the zone” right now!
*UPDATE 8/30/11
Looks like this is really starting to come along. Not really sure if they’re done yet, but then again what artist really is ??
After a couple of weeks of creation, the wall is finally complete! Let me begin by telling you about some of the key elements I really like about this piece… First off, I really like the perspective used here. It’s as if you’re floating slightly above ground and looking off into the far distance. The floating carriage is also a nice touch. Without it, there would be no branding. The wall as a whole gives me a feel that this restaurant has a since of tradition and early 20th century values. I like the color selection of black, white, and burnt red. These colors make the wall stand out amongst other buildings in the neighborhood, without being too “Loud”. The signage was (Jake’s Saloon) was also updated as well. This compliments everything well.
