What Could Be Kuler !?

Amazing Color Selection Web App By Adobe

Kuler

Kuler

I’ve been using Kuler for years. It’s a flash based color selection Web App by Adobe, that was recommended to me by a college buddy way back when. It comes in handy, during those times when I get stuck on deciding which colors will work right within a particular project.

Kuler allows it’s users to choose from custom colors created by other users, or create their own colors with the use of a dynamic and interactive color wheel. Users can also copy and paste hexadecimal values into programs like Illustrator and photo composting programs like Photoshop and After Effects. This really comes in handy!

Kuler also gives you the option to choose your colors based on an image! Isn’t that Awesome !!?

No Suits and Ties here.

I believe that every profession in the world has a dress code and it seems that the standard for us designers is about as simple as it gets. Sneakers, jeans and a t-shirt of some sort. That’s it! Pretty simple right!?

We Love Fine T-shirt

That’s why, when I ran across this site yesterday, I had to share it with everyone. It’s called We Love Fine .com and they have some pretty cool, nicely designed shirts there. The selection ranges from anything from Star Wars (of course…) and Marvel comic book characters, to my little pony.

I’ll definitely be sending for 2 of these shirts soon, that is, after I get a new i-phone of course.

PS- I love the $8 dollar t-shirts at Old Navy as well…

…and also, don’t ever show up to a design gig or interview wearing a suite and tie. (in most cases anyway)

I ran into these 2 artists in Midtown Manhattan on 57th and 10th last week. They’re painting the side of a restaurant. I’ll definitely be sharing the final result with you soon! …or whenever they’re done rather, because they are definitely “in the zone” right now!

UPDATES

*UPDATE 8/30/11

Looks like this is really starting to come along. Not really sure if they’re done yet, but then again what artist really is ??

After a couple of weeks of creation, the wall is finally complete! Let me begin by telling you about some of the key elements I really like about this piece… First off, I really like the perspective used here. It’s as if you’re floating slightly above ground and looking off into the far distance. The floating carriage is also a nice touch. Without it, there would be no branding. The wall as a whole gives me a feel that this restaurant has a since of tradition and early 20th century values. I like the color selection of black, white, and burnt red. These colors make the wall stand out amongst other buildings in the neighborhood, without being too “Loud”. The signage was (Jake’s Saloon) was also updated as well. This compliments everything well.

Day 1 Review: Mac OS X Lion

Mac OS X Lion

Mac OS X Lion

Hola Everyone. So I had the pleasure of downloading Mac OS X Lion and right off the bat all I can say is “so far so good“. I’m impressed by many of the features, that is with the exception of one. It looks like the scroll wheel direction change will take some getting used to, but I’ll get into that later.

The Download itself from the Mac App Store, only took about 20 minutes and then an additional 35 minutes or so for the install.

Advice: Do what you need to do on your computer before you re-start and begin installation, because it takes awhile.
